028 7083 2584Want to try it first? Start with Discover Scuba Diving. Ready to get qualified? Go straight to Open Water Diver. Either way, we can talk you through it on the phone.
No need to be fast. For Open Water you’ll show you’re comfortable in the water with a 200 m swim (or 300 m with mask, fins and snorkel) and a 10-minute float, with no time limit on the swim. Discover Scuba doesn’t include a swim test.
It’s cooler than the tropics, so you’ll dive in the right suit for the season, a thick wetsuit or a drysuit. The upside: learn here and you’ll be a confident diver almost anywhere in the world.
No, you don’t need to buy kit to start. Equipment rental is available, and our shop can help when you’re ready to buy your own. A well-fitting mask and fins is the usual first buy.
Children can try scuba in the pool from age 8 with PADI Seal Team. Discover Scuba and Junior Open Water start at 10. Under-18s need a parent or guardian’s consent. See our kids’ diving options.
Everyone completes the standard diver medical questionnaire before diving. If you answer yes to any question, you’ll need a doctor’s sign-off before in-water training, so it’s worth filling it in early.
